STEVE MCKNIGHT

Steve graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2000 with a B.S. in Music Education and a B.A. in Music Performance. He has studied from Steve Hawk, Kevin Dean, Joe Sullivan, Jack Schantz, and Frank Eisenrich. In Steve's extensive freelance performing over just the last several years, he has played with many of the top musical ensembles from Montreal to Pittsburgh including: The Balcony Big Band, the Pittsburgh Pirate Buco Band, the Butler Symphony, Sandra and the Latin Groove, the Three Rivers Jazz Orchestra as well as legends such as Roger Humphries, Joe Negri, Bernadette Peters, Joe Piscapo, Jay Ashby and Mike Tomaro. After finishing his undergraduate degrees, Steve started the very popular salsa band Azucar and the wildly successful ceremonial music company, the Resounding Brass. In addition to keeping a very full pallet of performing and teaching, Steve is completing his masters jazz performance degree at McGill University (Montreal) and conducts one of the school’s big bands.
